Poverty. You've probably heard about it, read about it or seen it. But have you ever lived it? Have you ever fumbled to find the right words to explain your living situation? Slipping from an upper middle class family to a poverty level family is no easy thing. Never in my life did I think I would be living without absolute basic needs.
Last June, my summer plans took an unexpected twist. Instead of lounging around comfortably flipping through 250 channels in my nice chilled house, I was going to be shut into almost complete isolation in a city far from the comfort zone I was accostomed to.

Contrary to popular belief, poverty effects everybody. Even Bill Gates, the richest person in the world, worth tens of billions, is greatly effected by the increasing rate of poverty in less developed countries (LDCs). What many people don't realise is, most food products and clothing is grown or made in our supposed 'third world' countries. Cotton, sugar, coffee, bananas, apples, honey, rice and wine are all examples products that are supplied by LDCs - and there are more. With the high use of these products in developed countries, you'd expect the suppliers to be rolling in money.
